Matt believes in ensuring Round Rock is fully staffed with highly qualified emergency responders. We all should feel safe in our community, and know that help, regardless of its nature, is only moments away. This means that we need to set aside a sufficient budget to ensure our ambulances, firefighters and police are staffed, well equipped, and paid a competitive wage. Matt has been a licensed Texas peace officer since the age of 21, and has managed emergency responders at the state level. He understands first-hand the funding necessary to establish effective teams in the field. Matt is also fully trained and certified in the National Incident Management System (NIMS), which allows him to fully understand emergencies as they develop and are addressed at the local, state and federal levels.
